Orion
- My favorite constellation, and the easiest one to spot in the winter where I live. A romantic, manly name
- I worked at a grocery store with an Orion, the only one I've ever come across. Orion the Hunter, how much more masculine can you get?
- There is a popular misconception that Orion means "hunter." Orion WAS a hunter in Greek mythology, but the name means "the dawn." A lovely alternative to Ryan or Brian.
- is a really unique guys name. It was the name of a Greek hero and constalation. I plan to name my first child (if it's a boy) Orion Rigel (Rigel is one of the main stars in the constalation).
- this name makes me think of magic, and i think it would fit the right person.
- I don't know if anyone would ever use this to name a baby, but I think it would be a great name. Orion would probably never have to go by his last initial in elementary school, yet the name doesn't sound made-up, as if the parent was trying too hard to invent something. It reminds me of the stars, as it's from the constellation Orion.
- Orion Ikaika (O-Ry-un E-KY-kuh) This is my son's name. It is a very strong name and he is already living up to it! Orion was a hunter in Greek mythology. I've also read that Orion means "son of fire". We gave our son the middle name Ikaika to honor his Hawaiian heritage. Ikaika is a Hawaiian name meaning "strength of a warrior". The two names sound beautiful together and flow very nicely, don't you think?
- Orion Quinn Wagner: We named our first son Orion Quinn Wagner. "Orion" is unique - yet not freakish or jibberish. Once people understand that he isn't "Ryan", everyone - young and old- have an appreciation for the name. He is the largest constellation in the sky. "The Mighty Quinn" influenced his middle name, and so did my partial Irish ancestry. Plus, it sounded good with "Orion".
